March 18 Covid-19 Update

Hello PH families,

We appreciate your patience and flexibility during our transition to virtual learning.  We will continue to update you via social media, text and email but will try to streamline this to Wednesdays and Sundays as to not inundate you with communication.  I want to take this time to let you know our student body is engaging very positively with staff to continue their learning outside of the school building. All of our hard work in helping students own their learning in a way that is productive for them is really paying off.  The vast majority of students are reaching out multiple times a day to teachers, are turning in work as required, and staying focused. We are proud of the staff and students' ability to make this transition smooth.

There are few things we want you to be aware of as we move deeper into this process:

1. Governor Evers issued a press release that schools are closed indefinitely which means we do not have a date to return to school.  We will keep you posted as new information becomes available; however we will continue to offer virtual learning as long as our school is closed.  You can find more information about the virus here.  You can also find a link here to a document DPI is sharing about social distancing during school closure.

2.With the increase of Chromebook use in off-campus environments, we are aware that home networks are often not equipped with the same protections as the Pathways campus network, meaning students may be more vulnerable to malware, or parts of the internet that harbor inappropriate content than they would be on campus.   In order to protect both our students and our technology, Pathways High will be using GoGuardian to monitor student use of Pathways High technology during the period of school closures due to the Covid-19 virus. Websites will be filtered exactly as they are during the school day and administration will be checking and responding to alerts during school hours.

3. We will continue to have shortened hours when we are open at PH for tech needs please contact if you need to schedule a time for chrome book pick up or tech needs.

4. We are committed to helping families through this difficult time and realize that for many families this means offering breakfast and lunch; however we also realize that PH may not be the most convenient location to have students pick up lunch.  As of Friday March 20, 2020 we will be offering food service only for those that reach out to us as there are likely more convenient locations for families to go to.  Below is a listing of options around the city that are offering food service to any child regardless of the school they are enrolled in.  If these sites are not an option for you and you are in need of food please reach out to Pathways High at 414-943-2891 so we can make arrangements.
