Every child has untapped potential that's waiting to be discovered. My passion lies with removing the barriers that stand in the way of our children reaching their goals, dreams, and true potential; they are capable of far more than they even realize. If we want our world to be a better place it starts with us investing our time and energy into our children. "Be the change you want to see in the world" Director of Business Operations Michelle Raynier My why for working at Pathways High is... ... the students! Communications & Enrollment Manager Kris Brienza My why for working at Pathways High is... .. I genuinely enjoy watching students thrive in a positive environment where their voices are heard and their learning in ways that are meaningful, collaborative, and connected to the real world. Office & Food Service Manager Deb Stollenwerk My why for working at Pathways High is... ... because every student should feel important and empowered. Social Worker Kristina Jackson My why for working at Pathways High is... ... The inspiring learning environment and unique opportunities that are provided at Pathways are mind-blowing. No matter what post high school journey our students choose, Pathways provides them with the skills, knowledge and community to be set up for success. Senior Advisor & IMPACT Coordinator Julia Mach My why for working at Pathways High is... …because all students should have the opportunity to be successful and reach their full potential. Students often are left to figure out what works for them instead of being given a support system that allows for them to ask the question “why” without hearing “because this is the way it has always been.” Instead, we, as a learning community, should foster students' innate curiosity which often leads to new, unthinkable solutions. Math Specialist Lucas Sasveld My why for working at Pathways High is... ...because it's the perfect fit for me. The philosophy of the school, the administrators, the staff and the students aligns with my personal philosophy of how students should be treated in schools. I see everyday how engaged students can be when the content is made applicable to their interests and to their life situations." Technology Specialist Chris Kjaer My why for working at Pathways High is... ...because traditional education is not working for far too many of our nation's learners. It is frustrating to see a student's potential caged rather than unleashed. When given the opportunity to work for a school with the potential to revolutionize both how learning happens and is measured, I had to take it! Physics Specialist Steven Koehler My why for working at Pathways High is... ...because we are designed and dedicated to help students find their own way, rather than coerce students to march lockstep down some mythical, turn of the century, Prussian highway to knowledge and efficiency. Humanities Specialist Jess Ehrenberg My why for working at Pathways High is... ...is the real-life skills we can learn in a history classroom. Memorizing names and dates are not important, but the empathy, the perspectives, and the critical thinking skills that can all be applied to our world outside of these walls are vital. Life Science Specialist Annelise Mankowski My why for working at Pathways High is... ...because we get to be creative rather than just follow a script! We collaborate across all disciplines to create authentic and meaningful experiences for students that develop their self-confidence, build a community, and get them excited for their futures. English Language Arts Specialist Meredith Klusman My why for working at Pathways High is... …because the Pathways structure aligns with my view of what education should be. Everyone should be able to find their passions through exploration, feel that their voice is valued, and treat others with empathy. Pathways creates the space for all these and more! Lead Special Education Specialist Micaela Brand My why for working at Pathways High is... ...my why for working at Pathways High is because I believe all students have the ability to find something they are passionate about and want to pursue throughout their lives when given the tools and support they need to succeed. I teach because my students remind me every day that they are intelligent, emotionally aware critical thinkers who can and want to make a difference in the world. I am proud to have the privilege of working with young people who are ready to take action and make a positive impact in their communities. Special Education Support Carol Spade My why for working at Pathways High is... ...I believe students learn best when they do not realize they are learning. I am excited to be part of Pathways High where students have the opportunity to develop the skills needed to help them be successful while pursuing their unique passions. Special Education and Behavioral Support Sara French My why for working at Pathways High is... ...because all students deserve a place to BELONG, learn about themselves and the world around them, and develop the critical thinking and life skills needed to reach their highest potential. The model of Pathways High provides the safe, supportive structures for students sans staff alike to grow and flourish in ways we could never have imagined in traditional educational settings.
